The Spiral of Inquiry provides the framework for Network schools to be curious about and (1) scan for what is going on for their learners, to develop a (2) focus for their team inquiry, to explore (3) hunches about what is leading to this situation (good and bad) for learners, to identify areas for (4) new learning, to (5) take action, and to (6) check how much difference these new actions are making to learners.

School teams submit their inquiry proposal at the beginning of the school year, based on the first four stages of the spiral of inquiry. At the end of the year, teams submit case studies to document their experience at all stages of the spiral.

Once you have had a chance to review The Spiral Playbook and the 4 Key Questions for Scanning and Checking, please submit your 2017 – 2018 NOII AESN Inquiry Proposal (due November 30, 2017).

There is a lot that we can learn from the work taking place in other schools and we hope that you will take a close look at past AESN case studies and NOII case studies.

We very much look forward to receiving your submissions and encourage you to contact us is you have any questions.
